The cooperative, based in Spain, is engaged in the design and manufacture of transformers and related electrical motors and components. It began its activity in the year 1966. The cooperative started out with distribution transformers of up to 2500 kVA in the 36 kV series. It has a registered business headquarters located in Mungia, Vizcaya Province in Spain. The cooperative also manufactures encapsulated dry-type transformers, with medium power transformers. Its main clients include Telefónica, Repsol, Aeropuertos Españoles y Navegación Aérea (AENA), and Renfe. It also caters the needs of the steelworks, sheet metal rolling, cogeneration, wind-power, hospital, hypermarket, shipbuilding, paper, foundry, and public buildings sectors. The cooperative is part of the Mondragón Corporación Cooperativa (MCC), the Basque Country's leading business consortium and one of the largest in Spain.
